Vita

Paula Iancic studied singing at the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj/Romania. She gained her first stage experience at various Romanian opera houses playing roles such as Lauretta (GIANNI SCHICCHI), Adele (DIE FLEDERMAUS), Micaëla (CARMEN), Musetta and Mimi (LA BOHÈME).

She won various prizes and awards, including the special prize at the Alexandru Fărcaş International Voice Competition in Arad (2015). She is also active as a concert singer and has sung with a number of orchestras including the State Radio Orchestra of Bucharest, the Arad State Philharmonic and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Cluj.

As a member of the Opera Studio of the Bayerischen Staatsoper in Munich between 2016 to 2018, Paula Iancic has sung roles such as Barbarina (LE NOZZE DI FIGARO), Papagena (DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE), Gretel (HÄNSEL UND GRETEL), Suor Dolcina (SUOR ANGELICA), Giannetta (L'ELISIR D'AMORE), Zaida (IL TURCO IN ITALIA), Maria (DER DIKTATOR), 1st Esquire and Flowermaiden (PARSIFAL), Ginevra Scotti (DIE GEZEICHNETEN). She gave her debut as Oscar (UN BALLO IN MASCHERA) at Bayerischen Staatsoper in Munich in February 2018.

Further engagements include her debut as Susanna (LE NOZZE DI FIGARO), Adina (L´ELISIR D´AMORE) und Gilda (RIGOLETTO) at the National Opera in Iasi, Dvorak´s TE DEUM withe Cluj-Napoco State Philharmonic, Lauretta (GIANNI SCHICCHI) at the National Opera in Cluj-Napoca as well her company debut at the Deutschen Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf as Philotis in John Fords world premiere „Schade, dass sie eine Hure war“.
