John Adams’ ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA at Theater Koblenz, DIE DREIGROSCHENOPER at Opera Zuid and the New Year’s concerts at Staatstheater Meiningen are among Enrico Delamboye’s most recent projects. Previous engagements include CARMEN at Oper Köln, Wagner’s DAS LIEBESVERBOT at Opera Zuid and New Year’s concerts with the Hofer Symphoniker.

Delamboye has enjoyed a long-standing artistic collaboration with Opera Zuid, where his productions have included DAS LIEBESVERBOT and DIE DREIGROSCHENOPER as well as FANTASIO, L’ELISIR D’AMORE and Offenbach’s ORPHEUS IN DER UNTERWELT.

Since the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Delamboye has served as Principal Guest Conductor of the WDR Funkhausorchester in Cologne, following an already close artistic partnership with the orchestra. From 2009 to 2019, he was General Music Director of Theater Koblenz.

Guest engagements have taken him to opera houses including Komische Oper Berlin, Theater Basel, Volksoper Wien, Konzert Theater Bern, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon, the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen, Staatstheater Darmstadt, Stadttheater Gießen and Oper Köln, as well as to numerous festivals and venues throughout Germany and Europe.

As a concert conductor, he has worked with orchestras including the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln, MDR-Sinfonieorchester, Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern, Münchner Symphoniker, Nürnberger Symphoniker, Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz, Jenaer Philharmonie, Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, Sinfonieorchester Basel, Berner Kammerorchester, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Artur Rubinstein Philharmonic Łódź, Zagreb Philharmonic and Sinfonieorchester Aachen.

His repertoire ranges from Baroque music to contemporary works and encompasses both opera and the symphonic repertoire.

Born in Wiesbaden, Enrico Delamboye is a Dutch citizen. He studied piano with Joop Celis and orchestral conducting with Jan Stulen, with viola as a secondary subject, at the Conservatorium Maastricht. He made his operatic debut at the Internationale Maifestspiele at Staatstheater Wiesbaden with Benjamin Britten’s THE RAPE OF LUCRETIA. Early in his career, he held positions as Kapellmeister and répétiteur at Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Staatstheater Mainz, Wuppertaler Bühnen and Oper Köln. From 2007 to 2014, he taught orchestral conducting at the Conservatorium Maastricht.
