Kim-Lillian, born in London to a artistic Central European family, was trained at an early age as a dancer. Her singing talent was then discovered by the late Anthony Rolfe-Johnson. She is now an honour ARAM of the Royal Academy of Music. She then continued at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Recent appearances include her Rusalka debut at the Komische Oper Berlin, a guest appearance as Pamina at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf, her Canadian debut at the Opéra de Montréal as Pamina in Mozart’s THE MAGIC FLUTE, Marzelline in Beethoven’s FIDELIO at the Edinburgh Festival and Gretel (HANSEL UND GRETEL) at the Royal Opera House Muscat. She returned to Deutsche Oper Berlin as Pamina, Musetta (LA BOHÈME) and Gretel (HANSEL UND GRETEL) under the baton of Donald Runnicles, and she sang the role of Pamina on tours of the Komische Oper Berlin (Barrie Kosky’s production) in Australia, New Zealand. Taiwan, Macau, and South Korea. She appeared as Lydia Pawloska in Weinberger’s FRÜHLINGSSTÜRME at the Komische Oper Berlin, she made her debut as Maria in a new production of Tchaikovsky’s MAZEPPA at the Staatstheater Cottbus and made her Austrian operatic debut in the leading role of Flotow’s MARTHA at the Graz Opera, and her Italian debut at the Festival della Valle D’Itria.
As an ensemble member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin (young ensemble), the Theater Freiburg and Basel, Kim-Lilian Strebel sang roles such as Micaëla (CARMEN), Fiordiligi (COSÌ FAN TUTTE), 1st Lady (THE MAGIC FLUTE), Adelia (ADELIA), Adina (L’ELISIR D’AMORE), Musetta (LA BOHÈME), Euridice (ORFEO ED EURIDICE), Angelica (ORLANDO), Gretel (HANSEL AND GRETEL), Orazia (INDIAN QUEEN), Garsenda (FRANCESCA DA RIMINI), Safiye (CRUSADES), Isaure (JERUSALEM) and Astaroth (QUEEN OF SABA).
Kim-Lilian Strebel has given guest performances with works by Bach (MAGNIFICAT), Beethoven (MISSA SOLEMNIS), Canteloupe (SONGS OF THE AUVERGNE) or Mozart (REQUIEM) with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Thonhalle Orchestra Zurich, the Chamber Orchestra Basel, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra as well as La Orquesta Sinfonica Y Coro RTVE.
