Soprano Theresa Pilsl has established herself in recent years with a broad repertoire spanning concert, song, and opera.

Among her significant concert appearances are her debut at the Vienna Musikverein in Haydn’s The Creation, Mendelssohn’s Elijah with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem in Munich and Passau, as well as a solo recital at the Audi Christmas Concerts with the Georgian Chamber Orchestra under Ariel Zuckermann. She has been heard in recital at the Heidelberger Frühling International Music Festival, the HIDALGO Festival in Munich, the Martha Argerich Festival in Hamburg, the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin, and the Luosto Soi Festival in Finnish Lapland.

On the opera stage, her repertoire includes Susanna and Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), and the Genius (Der Stein der Weisen). She created the title role in the world premiere of Enjott Schneider’s Kriemhild at the Europäische Wochen festival in Passau and sang Leonora in Carl Nielsen’s Maskarade at Oper Leipzig.

She has appeared with orchestras such as the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal under Kent Nagano, the Deutsche Radiophilharmonie under Pietari Inkinen, and the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra under Katharina Müllner. In recital she has been featured at the Tauberphilharmonie, the Mozartfest Würzburg, and the Pianosalon Christophori in Berlin. Her artistic curiosity also extends to innovative formats, including song improvisation evenings at the Abgussmuseum and the Haus der Kunst in Munich as part of the Bavarian State Opera’s “Ja, Mai” Festival.

Pilsl is a laureate of numerous competitions, including the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Junior, the International Competition for Baroque Opera Pietro Antonio Cesti (Audience Prize and Special Prize of the Wiener Konzerthaus), the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin (Special Prize of the Walter Kaminsky Foundation), and the Emmerich Smola Award at the SWR Junge Opernstars. She has been a scholarship holder of the Atelier lyrique at the Verbier Festival, the Liedakademie of the Heidelberger Frühling, and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

She studied voice at the Universität der Künste Berlin and the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, while simultaneously completing a medical degree at the Charité in Berlin. She is a licensed physician and is currently pursuing a doctorate at the LMU Munich in phoniatrics, focusing on vocal physiology under the supervision of Prof. Michael Echternach. Theresa Pilsl was born and raised in Passau.
