The Belgian soprano Margaux de Valensart studied singing at the Institut Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie in Namur (IMEP).

She continued her training at the Opera Academy in Copenhagen, where she perfected her skills with Helene Gjerris. She made her stage debut as Musetta (LA BOHÈME), Contessa di Ceprano (RIGOLETTO) and Blumenmädchen (PARSIFAL). She is also Frasquita (CARMEN) and Ilia (IDOMENEO), two roles that awarded her with a Talent Prize at the Årets Reumert, the Danish prize for stage performances, in 2020.

Margaux de Valensart is MM Laureate of La Monnaie and finalist of the 38th International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition.

Recently, she was Pamina (THE MAGIC FLUTE) at the Semperoper Dresden, Lax F in the world premiere of CIRCUS DAYS AND NIGHTS (Philip Glass) at the Malmö Opera, Bubikopf (DER KAISER VON ATLANTIS) at the Grand Théâtre de la Ville du Luxembourg and Contessa di Ceprano (RIGOLETTO) at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège.

In 2022, at La Monnaie, Margaux performed in several concertini, among others in La Voix Humaine (Poulenc), a work she also performed at the Malmö Opera in May, with the Malmö Operaorkester conducted by Maxime Pascal. She also sang at the Mozart for Kids family concert in March, which included excerpts from THE MAGIC FLUTE. In June, she made her debut on the stage of La Monnaie as a Coryphée and a Bohemian in LES HUGUENOTS. In December, she also sang a Christmas concert with the children’s and youth choirs of La Monnaie.

In 2023, Margaux is a semi-finalist at the Queen Elisabeth competition and is selected for the national semi-final of the Voix Nouvelles 2023 competition which will happen in June.

From January 2024, Margaux is joining the ensemble at Oper Wuppertal where sh’ell be making her debut as Alcina (ALCINA) and Frau Fluth (DIE LUSTIGEN WEIBER VON WINDSOR).
