Iris Marie Sojer studied at the Berlin University of the Arts with Prof. Elisabeth Werres and at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Prof. KS Christiane Iven.
After gaining experience in the opera studio of the Nationaltheater Mannheim and as a permanent ensemble member of the Wuppertal Opera, she has been working as a freelance artist since the 2023/2024 season.
Her extensive repertoire includes roles such as Charlotte (WERTHER), Cherubino (LE NOZZE DI FIGARO), Rosina (IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA), Sesto (GIULIO CESARE IN EGITTO), Maddalena (RIGOLETTO), Zerlina (DON GIOVANNI), Tisbe (LA CENERENTOLA), Mélisande (PELLÉAS ET MÉLISANDE), Lola (CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA), Second Lady (DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE), and Laura (IOLANTA).
Guest engagements have taken and continue to take her to the Theater Basel, Theater Erfurt, the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen, Bühnen Bern, and Stadttheater Klagenfurt.
Iris Marie Sojer is a recipient of the Enno and Christa Springmann Foundation award and a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association. In the NRW Critics’ Survey 2018/19 conducted by “WELT,” she was nominated as “Best Young Singer.”
