In the 2025/26 season, Enrico Delamboye conducts The Threepenny Opera at Opera Zuid, New Year’s concerts at the Staatstheater Meiningen, and John Adams’ Antony and Cleopatra at Theater Koblenz. Recent highlights include Carmen at Oper Köln, Wagner’s Das Liebesverbot at Opera Zuid, and New Year’s concerts with the Hofer Symphoniker. His long-standing collaboration with Opera Zuid has included productions such as Fantasio, L’elisir d’amore, and Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld.

 

Since the start of the 2018/19 season, Delamboye has been Principal Guest Conductor of the WDR Funkhausorchester in Cologne, with which he had already enjoyed a close artistic partnership. From 2009 to 2019, he served as General Music Director at Theater Koblenz.

 

He has appeared at opera houses such as Komische Oper Berlin, Theater Basel, Volksoper Wien, Konzert Theater Bern, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon, the Ballet of the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen, Staatstheater Darmstadt, Stadttheater Gießen, Oper Köln, Staatstheater Braunschweig, Musiktheater im Revier, and numerous festivals and stages across Germany and Europe.

 

As a concert conductor, he has worked with the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, MDR Symphony Orchestra, Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern, Munich and Nuremberg Symphony Orchestras, Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz, Jena Philharmonic, Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, Basel Symphony Orchestra, Berner Kammerorchester, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic Łódź, Zagreb Philharmonic, and the Aachen Symphony Orchestra.

 

His repertoire spans a wide range from Baroque to contemporary works, in both the symphonic and operatic fields.

 

Born in Wiesbaden and a Dutch citizen, Enrico Delamboye studied piano with Joop Celis, orchestral conducting with Jan Stulen, and viola as a secondary subject at the Conservatorium Maastricht. He made his opera debut at the Internationale Maifestspiele of the Staatstheater Wiesbaden with Benjamin Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia. Early in his career, he served as Kapellmeister and coach at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Staatstheater Mainz, Wuppertaler Bühnen, and Oper Köln, and taught orchestral conducting at the Conservatorium Maastricht from 2007 to 2014.
