Vita

The young soprano Elisabeth Dopheide studied at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media in the class of Prof. Gudrun Pelker and was a member of the Lied class of Prof. Jan Philip Schulze. Master classes with Dagmar Schellenberger, Stefan Vinke and Johannes Martin Kränzle enriched her vocal training.

She made her operatic debut in March 2022 at the Semperoper Dresden in the role of Sophie Scholl in Udo Zimmermann’s opera WEIßE ROSE. Most recently, she made a guest appearance at the Bühnen Bern in the role of Gerhilde in Wagner’s DIE WALKÜRE. Since 2023/24 season, she is an ensemble member at Theater Chemnitz and she can be heard as Mother (HANSEL AND GRETEL), Rosalinde (DIE FLEDERMAUS), Venus (ORPHEUS IN THE UNDERWORLD), Micaela (CARMEN), Indolenda (LES TROIS SOUHAITS) or as Präsidentin in Künnecke´s DER TENOR DER HERZOGIN.

In concert and oratorio Elisabeth Dopheide has already been heard as soloist in Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mendelssohn’s Elias and Palmeri’s Misa Tango. Radio recordings with Deutschlandfunk and NDR document her concert schedule.

In November 2018 she won the 2nd prize at the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin in the junior category. She is a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation, the Walter and Charlotte Hamel Foundation, the Richard Wagner Association and the Ernst von Siemens Foundation.
