Vita

The young soprano Elisabeth Dopheide studied at the Hanover University of Music, Drama, and Media in the class of Prof. Gudrun Pelker and was a member of the song interpretation class of Prof. Jan Philip Schulze. Master classes with Dagmar Schellenberger, Stefan Vinke, and Johannes Martin Kränzle have enriched her vocal training.

She made her operatic debut in March 2022 at the Semperoper Dresden in the role of Sophie Scholl in Udo Zimmermann’s opera WEISSE ROSE. Most recently, she appeared as a guest artist at the Bühnen Bern in the role of Gerhilde in Wagner’s DIE WALKÜRE. Since the 2023/24 season, she has been a permanent ensemble member at Theater Chemnitz, where her roles include the title role in Charpentier’s LOUISE, Mother (HÄNSEL UND GRETEL), Rosalinde (DIE FLEDERMAUS), Venus (ORPHEUS IN DER UNTERWELT), Micaela (CARMEN), Indolenda (DIE DREI WÜNSCHE), and the President (DER TENOR DER HERZOGIN).

In the spring of 2025, Elisabeth Dopheide will make her debut as Freia in a new production of DAS RHEINGOLD at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt.

In the concert and oratorio field, Elisabeth Dopheide has already appeared as a soloist in Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and Palmeri’s Misa Tango. Radio recordings for Deutschlandfunk and NDR document her active concert engagements.

In November 2018, she won the 2nd prize in the junior category of the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin (Federal Singing Competition Berlin). She is a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation, the Walter and Charlotte Hamel Foundation, the Richard Wagner Association, and the Ernst von Siemens Foundation.
