Since the current season, the Russian–born mezzo–soprano Ekaterina Aleksandrova has been a member of the ensemble at the German National Theatre Weimar (DNT Weimar). There she made her debuts as Arcetro in Jacopo Peri‘s »L‘EURIDICE«, Charlotte in Massenet‘s »WERTHER«, Rosina in Rossini‘s »IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA«, Lucienne in Korngold‘s »DIE TOTE STADT« and as Jakob in Leonard Evers‘ opera fairy tale »GOLD!«
 
Ekaterina Aleksandrova gained her first stage experience at the Frankfurt Opera, the Burgfestspiele Bad Vilbel and the Bielefeld Theatre, among others. In 2019, she also sang with the Ensemble Modern in the world premiere of the opera series “Ménage–à–trois“ of the Deutsche Bank Foundation‘s “Musiktheater heute“ academy.
 
In 2020–22, the mezzo–soprano was a member of the Opera Studio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, where she appeared as Mercédès (CARMEN), Princess (Puss in Boots), Glascha (KATJA KABANOWA), Annina (LA TRAVIATA), Sandmann (HANSEL AND GRETEL), Alisa (LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR) and in Bach‘s “Christmas Oratorio“.
 
In the 2021/22 season, she made a guest appearance as Annio in the new production of Mozart‘s »LA CLEMENZA DI TITO« at the Augsburg State Theatre. There she was a member of the ensemble in the 2022/23 season and embodied the roles of Flora/Annina in Verdi‘s »LA TRAVIATA«, Marchesa Melibea in Rossini‘s »IL VIAGGIO A REIMS«, Orfeo in »ORFEO ED EURIDICE« and Helena in Purcell‘s »THE FAIRY QUEEN«. This was followed by an engagement at the Volkstheater Rostock from 2023–2025. There she made her debut as Hansel and sang the role of Orfeo again. In the leading role of Rossini‘s »LA CENERENTOLA« she was engaged in a new production at the Augsburg State Theatre and stepped in several times at the Graz Opera.
 
Russian–born mezzo–soprano Ekaterina Aleksandrova studied singing with Prof. Hedwig Fassbender, Prof. Kelly–Moog and Prof. Michelle Breedt at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main. She supplemented her studies with master classes with Margreet Honig, Helmut German, Linda Watson, Camilla Nylund and Barbara Frittoli. She was a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Frankfurt am Main and the Giovanni Omodeo Foundation.
