Belgian soprano Margaux de Valensart studied at the Institut de Musique et de Pédagogie in Namur. After graduating in 2016, she joined the Opera Academy in Copenhagen, where she worked with Helene Gjerris from 2016 to 2019. Initially at the Opera Academy and later as a member of the ensemble at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen, she had the opportunity to perform roles such as Musetta in LA BOHÈME, Contessa di Ceprano in RIGOLETTO, a Flower Maiden in Wagner’s PARSIFAL, Frasquita in CARMEN, and Ilya in IDOMENEO. For the latter two roles, she was awarded the Talent Prize at the Reumert Awards in 2020.

Since January 2024, Margaux de Valensart has been an ensemble member at the Wuppertal Opera, where her roles include Alcina in ALCINA, Frau Fluth in DIE LUSTIGEN WEIBER VON WINDSOR, Gretel in HÄNSEL UND GRETEL, Marguerite in FAUST, Donna Anna in DON GIOVANNI, and Daisy in THE LODGER.

Recent guest engagements have taken the artist to the Semperoper Dresden as Pamina in Mozart’s DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, to Malmö Opera as Lax F in the world premiere of Philip Glass’s CIRCUS DAYS AND NIGHTS, to La Monnaie as Coryphée and Bohèmienne in LES HUGUENOTS, to the Opéra Royal de Wallonie as Contessa di Ceprano in Verdi’s RIGOLETTO, and to the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg as Bubikopf in Ullmann’s DER KAISER VON ATLANTIS.

Margaux de Valensart is a prize winner of La Monnaie/De Munt in Brussels and was a finalist in the 38th International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in Villach, Austria.
