Since the 2024\/2025 season, Marlene Ga\u00dfner has been a member of the ensemble at Theater Erfurt. In the current 2025\/2026 season, she can be heard in a wide range of productions: as the soloist in Gustav Mahler\u2019s Kindertotenlieder in the 2nd Symphony Concert, as Aouda in Around the World in 80 Days, Marylou in Fairy Tales in the Grand Hotel, Lureen in Brokeback Mountain, and the Mayor in The Little Ghost. In her first season in Erfurt, she made her role debut as H\u00e4nsel (H\u00e4nsel und Gretel) and also reprised Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady), appeared as the Angel in Mendelssohn\u2019s Elijah, and performed as soloist in the theater\u2019s traditional New Year\u2019s Concert.<\/p>\n

From 2020 to 2024, she was a member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, where she made her debut in the title role of Carmen and performed roles including Caesonia in Detlev Glanert\u2019s Caligula, Amelfa in The Golden Cockerel, Mary in The Flying Dutchman, Tisbe in La Cenerentola, and Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Guest engagements have taken her to the NDR Klassik Open Air as the Page in Rigoletto, to the Deutsche Oper Berlin as the Robber Girl\/Flower\/Princess in Samuel Penderbayne\u2019s The Snow Queen, to the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar as Dryad in a new production of Ariadne auf Naxos, and to Theater Dortmund as Flosshilde in Peter Konwitschny\u2019s Das Rheingold, in which she appeared both in the 2023\/24 premiere production and in the 2024\/25 revival.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Her discography includes the 2022 world premiere recording of Richard Flury\u2019s opera Der schlimm-heilige Vitalis, in which she performs the role of Jucunda with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Paul Mann.<\/p>\n

Marlene Ga\u00dfner studied voice at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover. She was a scholarship holder of Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now and the Richard Wagner Society Hannover. She made her stage debut in 2016 as Rebecca Nurse in The Crucible at Staatstheater Braunschweig, followed by engagements with the Junge Oper Hannover and, until the summer of 2019, as a member of the ensemble at Staatsoper Hannover, where her roles included Soeur Mathilde (Dialogues des Carm\u00e9lites), Flora and Annina (La traviata), the Sandman (H\u00e4nsel und Gretel), and Curra (La forza del destino).<\/p>\n
