He will also conduct performances of <em>Die Zauberfl\u00f6te<\/em> and Verdi\u2019s <em>Aida<\/em> at the Deutsche Oper Berlin during the season.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In 2024\/25 he conducted, among others, a new production of Tchaikovsky\u2019s <em>Eugene Onegin<\/em> at Northern Ireland Opera; <em>La traviata<\/em>, <em>I vespri siciliani<\/em> and <em>Der fliegende Holl\u00e4nder<\/em> at the Deutsche Oper Berlin; Puccini\u2019s <em>La Boh\u00e8me<\/em> at the Chemnitz Theatre; the premiere of <em>Winterreise<\/em> (after Zender\/Schubert) with the Staatsballett Berlin and the Staatskapelle Berlin; <em>The Nutcracker<\/em> at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe; Rossini\u2019s <em>Il viaggio a Reims<\/em> with the International Opera Studio of Zurich Opera House; Wagner\u2019s <em>Der fliegende Holl\u00e4nder<\/em> at the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar; and Weber\u2019s <em>Der Freisch\u00fctz<\/em> at the Oldenburg State Theatre.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">From 2021 to 2024, the Swiss conductor served as Kapellmeister at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where he conducted a wide-ranging repertoire from Verdi, Puccini, and Bizet to Wagner, Mozart, and Humperdinck, including <em>La traviata<\/em>, <em>Rigoletto<\/em>, <em>Verdi\u2019s Requiem<\/em>, <em>La Boh\u00e8me<\/em>, <em>Die Zauberfl\u00f6te<\/em>, <em>H\u00e4nsel und Gretel<\/em> (also on tour to the Royal Opera House Muscat), <em>Carmen<\/em>, <em>Les v\u00eapres siciliennes<\/em>, <em>Der fliegende Holl\u00e4nder<\/em>, and <em>Fidelio<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Prior to that, from 2016 to 2021, he was engaged at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, first as Second Kapellmeister and from 2020 as First Kapellmeister. There he led opera, ballet, and concert productions from the Baroque to contemporary music, including <em>Swan Lake<\/em>, <em>A Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream<\/em>, <em>Die lustigen Nibelungen<\/em>, <em>The Tales of Hoffmann<\/em>, <em>Anna Bolena<\/em>, <em>The Cunning Little Vixen<\/em>, <em>La clemenza di Tito<\/em>, and the world premiere of Avner Dorman\u2019s commissioned work <em>Wahnfried<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">As Assistant to Sir Donald Runnicles, he was deeply involved in the Deutsche Oper Berlin\u2019s great Wagner tradition, working on productions such as <em>G\u00f6tterd\u00e4mmerung<\/em> (Stefan Herheim), <em>Die Meistersinger von N\u00fcrnberg<\/em> (Jossi Wieler), and <em>Fidelio<\/em> (David Herrmann), as well as revivals of <em>Lohengrin<\/em>, <em>Tristan und Isolde<\/em>, and <em>Der fliegende Holl\u00e4nder<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Guest engagements have taken him to the Beethoven Orchester Bonn, Neubrandenburger Philharmonie, Kurpf\u00e4lzisches Kammerorchester Mannheim, Kammerphilharmonie Graub\u00fcnden, and the Meiningen State Theatre, as well as regular work with youth orchestras, including the 2021 national tour of the Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra with Shostakovich\u2019s Symphony No. 10, with performances in the Tonhalle Zurich, Victoria Hall Geneva, and the Stadtcasinos of Basel and Bern. Since 2019 he has served as Chief Conductor of the Zurich Chamber Philharmonic.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Born in Zurich to Spanish heritage, Limburg was a member of the Zurich Boys\u2019 Choir before studying piano and voice at the Zurich University of the Arts, where he completed his master\u2019s degree with distinction in the conducting class of Professor Schlaefli. He received further inspiration from masterclasses with Bernard Haitink, Esa-Pekka Salonen, and David Zinman, as well as from his long-standing work as Assistant to Justin Brown in Karlsruhe. From 2015 to 2021 he was a scholarship holder of the German Music Council\u2019s \u201cForum Dirigieren\u201d and was included in its \u201cMaestros of Tomorrow\u201d list.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p
